Preparing for emergencies is crucial for ensuring the safety of families, and it presents an opportunity for the entire family to engage in the process together in simple yet effective ways. Created by Sesame Street in partnership with PSEG, this interactive tool is intended to assist parents and children (ages 2-5) in preparing for unexpected situations collectively. Through kid-friendly songs and games, children are introduced to essential emergency preparedness concepts, while adults can access tips, customizable checklists, and detailed suggestions to facilitate emergency planning. The parent section includes additional resources for better preparation.
This resource equips children with fundamental knowledge that promotes safety and instills a sense of readiness.
- Personalize and sing along with Rosita to learn how to say first and last names as well as the full names of family members.
- Explore neighborhood helpers and match them to their respective workplaces.
- Create a personalized "Where I Live" screen with details of their home address to help memorize it.
